Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has had a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over Frenchman Moutet.
This represents his initial championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hard court since March of 2023.
Success also means Medvedev has secured 21 victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a trophy is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, including in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving approach and regular outbursts on court had led commentators to question if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.
However the player has altered his approach in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and compete assertively, backed up by an better serve.
The champion came back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to take the lead.
Both players traded breaks in the second set before the challenger, striving for his initial tour title, took control to force a third set.
Moutet rescued four early-game chances in a close third set before the champion broke to 15 to secure the win.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the title with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
